well THAT was a quick response.. heres what i got:
| Quote: | I contacted the BeltLine and they said Artisan is the contractor. They have spent a lot of time with the designers and you can find out more about them on their website: http://artisanskateparks.com. Hope this will help and please let me know if you have any other questions. Just FYI, you can see the design on the Conservancy’s website here: http://h4wpc.org/news.htm. Click on “Advance to Pillar Design Studios to learn more.”

Benzo, who did you talk to at the Beltline? Brad Siedlecki, the designer, doesn't even have this info.
Andy Duck and crew do some nice work. If anyone has some extra money, I'm sure they would be glad to build ya a swimmer while they are in town.

Nick, I talked to Alisa Chambers, her quoted email is above in my post along with her contact info. Below is her email address.
alisa@newaboa.com
she is with the Historic Fourth Ward Park Conservancy
I also got a response from Paul Taylor, who is "Acting Commissioner of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs".. he said that Reeves Construction is the general contractor at the site doing prep work and overall park construction, but confirmed when i asked him if Artisan was the skatepark contractor that his understanding was that yes they are.
How much does one of those swimmer bowl cost? haha.. those look so damn sick - one day, one day |

e-mail from Brad,
No official contract has been awarded to the Skatepark builder as of yet. The Beltline is finalizing the contract with the GC then the GC will sign a contract with the Skatepark builder. We still do not know who the Skatepark builder is as of yet. We are getting real close! Stay in touch!

| interesting - sounds like somebody at the Beltline is letting out information before its "official".. well heres to hoping the deal with Artisan goes through. they must be at the top of the list if the Beltline is telling people they got the contract |

no problemo.. love doing this investigative type work haha..
also just got another email about the whole contract situation between the GC and Artisan, from the Senior Landscape architect with the Beltline. For the record:
| Quote: |
While technically Reeves has not finalized their contract with artisan, they have told us that they plan to use them.
With this clarification coupled with the response from Comm Taylor, you have all the information relating to the skatepark.
If I can answer any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

| Did you guys see the construction camera shot today? Isn't that gigantic pipe they uncovered right where they are going to dig the bowls? What is it? Will it be removed? |

Looks like a manhole to get to the sewers. I would guess that they will be taking it out down below the bowls, and tying the drains into it. _________________ Nick Scott

| No, not that. Zoom in and look sort of near the back of the field (closer to the tower). You will see a pipe that is barely uncovered that looks like it is 5 feet in diameter and about 75 feet long (at least). |

| id say that is also part of the sewer system - looks to be connected to the raised square area which i assume is the manhole opening. my bet is they will probably rip all of that out and re-do the drainage for the whole site |
